Mine Runner
Utility RTV
A real performer. A better way to get around underground

Mine Runner has changed the way mine operators and contractors manage their daily mine access requirements. Using the popular and wide selling Kubota RTV900 as the base vehicle, HMS Equipment has specifically designed and developed the Mine Runner to be an efficiency tool for mine management.
The two seater, mine compliant, light duty run-about travels at speeds of up to 38 kph and with optional 4 wheel drive, the Mine Runner provides fast, safe access to all parts of the mine for mine deputies, maintenance fitters, maintenance electricians, first aid personnel and contractors. Furthermore, its compact dimensions make it narrow enough to run alongside conveyor belts and easy to manoeuvre in minimal and otherwise inaccessible spaces.

It has, as its safety circuit, compressed air in lieu of electrics. All sensing equipment is compressed air based; including temperature sentinels, float valve sensors, strangler valve and door open sensors. The starter motor also uses compressed air supplied by an onboard compressor and air receiver. And importantly, Test Safe Australia has approved the Explosion Protected Diesel Engine.

For mine operators and contractors alike, the Mine Runner offers the best in mine access solutions above or below ground. Not only does it save on space, time and money, it more than meets the most stringent requirements for mine safety.

Advantages of the Mine Runner underground vehicle
-
A dedicated vehicle providing immediate mine site access
 -
Small and highly manoeuvrable above and below ground. Able to travel at speeds of up to 38 kph
 -
No need for dedicated drivers. Management can be trained and licensed for driving
 -
Heavy duty utility tray allows carriage of up to 250kg
 -
Inexpensive to buy, run and maintain. Does not need particulate filter. Has low consumption of diesel and scrubber water
 -
Two and four wheel drive operation enables easy access to all parts of the mine.

Skid frame based explosion proof diesel engine system for underground use
Power Skid

This Power Skid fills a gap in the provision of an approved Flameproof Diesel Engine System for underground use. The Power Skid can be used for many applications and offers availability for mine engineers to develop specific solutions.
Kubota D902 3 cylinder DINA TIER 4 developing 20 kW @ 3600 RPM. Mechanical governor (no electronics). This engine has been fully tested at Test Safe Londonderry to AS/NZS 3584.2 – 2008 for explosion protected diesel engines and is design registered for use in underground coal mines in NSW. The engine does not require disposable exhaust particulate filters to comply with the EPA exposure limits when operated in accordance with New South Wales guideline MDG 29.
This engine system is a unique concept and could be used for various purposes in an underground environment as a power source to run machinery such as:-
-
Pumps
-
Hydraulic Power Packs
-
Compressors
-
Fans/Blowers, etc.
The skid base has a robust design and has fork tyne pockets as well as RUD lugs which means that it could be moved by a fork lift or be lifted by a crane. The system comes with on board approved engine management system and has an option of including a Methane monitoring/shutdown system.
